Welcome to Educare House!

Educare House is located in Kirstenhof, around the corner from Kirstenhof Primary School. We are extremely lucky to have a beautiful, large premises of over 4000m2 with multiple buildings and three large, separated play areas. Read more about what we provide below!

Preschool

4 months - 5 years old

Our babies, toddlers and preschoolers just have the best time! The priority for our littlest children is for them to experience the world through doing and playing - sensory play, free play, and most importantly, spending as much time as possible outside and exploring! Each class has an age appropriate daily programme which is shared with our parents.

Grade R

5-6 years old

Our Grade Rs have a wonderful, packed ‘school’ day. They follow the CAPS curriculum and are taught by a fantastic qualified Foundation Phase teacher, ensuring they are ready for ‘big school’ the following year, while still having exploration and play prioritised. They have the bonus of our large number of Kirstenhof Primary School Foundation Phase children joining in the afternoon so they get to mix with many different children.

Aftercare

5-9 years old

We provide aftercare for children from Kirstenhof Primary School for Grades R-3. Although we are just around the corner, we collect the the children by van and our legendary Uncle Alfie ensures he is there ready and waiting when they come out. We then provide lunch, our Grade R teacher supports the Grade 1-3s with their homework, and we fetch those who have extra-murals. The children have a ball of a time for the rest of the afternoon in their dedicated playground!

Sam Scott

Head Teacher

Sam’s teaching journey began in Zambia, where she fell in love with the power of phonics and witnessed how learning to read could open up a whole new world for children, many of whom were the first in their families to do so. She absolutely loves working with children, nurturing their love for learning every step of the way. After spending many years teaching across Africa, she swapped the bush for the beach, and moved to Cape Town. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase.
